Is OPTE Right For Me?

OPTE does not work on tattoos, discoloration (scars, port wine stains, 3D (e.g. moles), wrinkles, and hypopigmentation (e.g. vitiligo). While OPTE works on 98% of skin tones with just three shades, there is 2% of skin tones that is too dark for OPTE to properly scan.

What OPTE Works On

OPTE works on hyperpigmentation, age spots, sun spots, freckles, and dark spots. With OPTE you can choose what to cover and what to leave bare, without the unnatural look of uneven foundation. Want to leave your freckles but cover other areas? OPTE allows you to reveal the radiance of your natural skin, and only cover up unwanted hyperpigmented spots.

What OPTE Doesn't Work On

As OPTE uses a microscopic camera, it can only recognize discolorations within the camera’s lens frame. For this reason, OPTE will not work on scars, tattoos, birthmarks, hypopigmentation (e.g. vitiligo), or anything larger than a dime. With OPTE‘s unique camouflage technique, the device lays down pigment in precise patterns to make spots invisible to the naked eye. This requires a flat surface; therefore OPTE will not work on any raised bumps (acnes scars, acne, wrinkles, etc.).

Why 98%

While we are excited that OPTE works on the skin tones of billions of people with just three shades (far more inclusive than other foundations on the market, which range from 15-45 shade offerings and still have trouble shade-matching), this isn’t enough. OPTE is continuing to research and develop their scanning and correcting technology with a goal of effectively working on 100% of all skin tones.
